✦ Synopsis
Abstract
In this article, we present a simple surface‐mountable monopole antenna for dual‐band DCS1800 and 2.4‐GHz WLAN operations. The antenna was obtained by folding a metallic strip into a V‐shape, and soldered to a 50‐Ω microstrip feed line printed on a metallized substrate. The proposed antenna shows an easy control of the desired lower and upper bands by adjusting separately the length of the two metallic strips. Details of the proposed antenna design are described, and both simulated and experimental results are presented. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
