Abstract
We present a core diameter mismatch refractive index sensor designed in a singleβmode SM 600 optical fiber. The sensing region has been achieved by etching out the whole cladding and some portion of the core of the fiber. Effect of the etched core radius on sensitivity of the sensor has been investigated. Sensors response has been experimentally tested for water and acetone. Β© 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
