Abstract

The invertase activity of human intestinal mucosa is activated by Na^+^ and, to a smaller extent, by K^+^. It is inhibited by Rb^+^, Cs^+^ and NH. Similar results have been obtained with isomaltase and maltase activities. The activation and the inhibition constants respectively of these cations on invertase activity have been determined.
