✦ Synopsis
From a theoretical study of the energy-levels of the TCNQ and TIT molecules in the MF-TCNQ system and their counterparts In three other isostructural sys:ems TSeF-TCNQ, DSeDTF-'KNQ #is and rrunf) including the effect of Coulomb interactions with atomic charges on neighboring mokcules, it is demonstrated quantitatively that sizcable fractional charge transfers are needed to exphin the existence of common Fermi tevols for the two chains in a!1 four cases. The degrees of chargetransfers and location of the Fermi levels have been obtained in all four cases.

For charge-transfer excitons strongly interacting with vibrations of a donor-acceptor chain, soliton-like states are found to have an internal structure: at a certain ratio of polaronic shift and electron-hole relative motion energy, a transition from a symmetric to a dimerized soliton occurs accomp
