The activities of CuO and NiO in {xCuO + (1x)NiO} have been determined in the temperature range 1170 K to 1370 K by solid-electrolyte galvanic cells. The solubility limits of CuO in NiO and NiO in CuO have been estimated. The solutions exhibit strong positive deviations from ideal behaviour.
