A decentralized stochastic control problem is solved for a linear system with two local controllers that exchange their control signals by transmission over noisy communication links. Each local controller contains a subsystem that approximately reconstructs the system state. A deterministic version

of this problem is also considered. In each case expressions are presented for the performance of the controlled system.
