## Abstract __The dynamics of the excited states of 1โ€aminofluorenโ€9โ€one (1AF) and 1โ€(__N__,__N__โ€dimethylamino)โ€fluorenโ€9โ€one (1DMAF) are investigated by using steadyโ€state absorption and fluorescence as well as subpicosecond timeโ€resolved absorption spectroscopic techniques.
