✦ Synopsis

This note describes alternatives for the evaluation of spectra using time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The data show correlation between the size and the composition of the particles. In the most recent studies the evaluation of the chemical composition of the aerosol particles and the sorting of the mass spectral data into classes was done by hand. To do this tedious task by computer several algorithms are proposed.

Fine metal or metal oxide powder as an alternative to conventional organic matrices in matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOFMS) has been utilized successfully for lower molecular mass analytes, poly(ethylene glycol) 200 (PEG 200) and methyl stearate.

Chromium carbenes are used in organic synthesis as reagents to obtain molecules of biological interest. In this work a particle beam (PB) coupled liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC/MS) system was used for the characterization of a mixture of chromium aminocarbene complexes. Three of them ar

Particle-induced desorption mass spectrometry has been used to investigate surface modifications of the homopolymers of poly(ethy1ene-co-methyl acrylate), namely polyethylene (PE) and polymethyl acrylate (PMA), upon thermal degradation (up to 168 hours at 180Β°C). The thermooxidation of PE is charact
