Abstract
As the 10th anniversary of the discovery of high T~c~ cuprate superconductors by Bednorz and MΓΌller is approaching, a simple picture of high T~c~ cuprates based on dβwave superconductivity is emerging. Here we shall describe the effect of impurity scattering and compare with experiments on Znβsubstituted LSCO and YBCO. We shall discuss some characteristics of the vortex state in dβwave superconductor. In a magnetic field parallel to the c axis a square vortex lattice tilted by 45Β° from the a axis is stable, which have been seen experimentally though elongated in the b direction in monocrystals of YBCO.

A problem is posed, for theories which identify the symmetry of the order parameter in the copper oxide superconductors as d-wave, by the fact that (a) the inelastic quasiparticle lifetime in the normal state is anomalously short, and (b) superconductivity appears to be surprisingly robust against s
We present a self-consistent theory of the interplay between the d-density wave (DDW) and superconductivity on the basis of the fluctuation-exchange (FLEX) approximation for the twodimensional (2D) Hubbard model with the nearest-neighbor hopping t and on-site Coulomb repulsion U. In order to stabili
