โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
Isothermal crystallization rates of semicrystalline poly(methoxypoly(ethylene glycol) methacrylate) brushes on goldโcoated substrates were measured by polarized optical microscopy. Growth rates for crystal radii, which were essentially constant for each film, initially increased with film thickness and then leveled off for film thicknesses >300 nm. AvramiโEvans theory suggests that the spherulites exhibit oneโdimensional growth with heterogeneous nucleation. Compared with physisorbed analogs, polymer brushes crystallized slower due to the restriction of chain mobility. ยฉ 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 48: 1955โ1959, 2010

## Abstract Sulfonated dimethyl fumarate (SDMF) was prepared. Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with sodium sulfonate side chains (SPEO) was synthesized by transesterification between SDMF and PEO with molecular weights of 200, 400, 600, 800, and 1000. The SPEO was subsequently mixed as a plasticizer with
Results of a study on the isothermal crystallization and thermal behavior of both uncured and hexamine-cured novolac/poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) complexes are reported. The crystallization behavior of PEO in complexes is strongly influenced by factors such as composition, crystallization temperature,
