β¦ Synopsis
Crystals have been obtained for recombinant ribosomal protein S8 from
Thermus thermophilus produced by Escherichia coli. The protein crystals have been grown in 40 mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH 6.0) in hanging drops equilibrated against saturated ammonium sulfate (unbuffered) with 2-methyl-2,4-pentandiol (v/v). The crystals belong to the space group P4 1(3) 2 1 2 with cell parameters a 5 b 5 67.65 Γ , c 5 171.12 Γ . They diffract x-rays to 2.9 Γ resolution. Proteins

RepAl protein is essential for replication of the RepFIC replicon of enterotoxin plasmid EntP307 and is thought to interact directly with the origin of replication. We have purified RepAl from an over-producing expression system and have prepared single crystals using a macroseeding technique. The c
Cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) is a pentameric glycoprotein of the thrombospondin family found in cartilage and tendon. Self-association of COMP is achieved through the formation of a fivestranded a-helical bundle that involves 64 N-terminal residues (from 20 to 83). The complex is furth
