## Abstract A series of __N__^6^,__N__^6^‐disubstituted 9__H__‐purin‐6‐amines **2a**–**i** was prepared from 5‐acetamido‐6‐amino‐2‐methylpyrimidin‐4(3__H__)‐one (**1**) and a secondary amine or its hydrochloride in the presence of phosphorus pentoxide and triethylamine hydrochloride.
