✦ Synopsis

Abstract

A novel topology for compact circularly polarized antennas is proposed. The cross‐shaped fractal antenna (CSFA) consists of two identical prefractal dipoles that are excited with a 90° time‐phase difference between them. Such an antenna significantly reduces the space filling, compared to classical topologies, and radiates excellent circularly polarized fields over a large beamwidth. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
