✦ Synopsis
The strong negative electrostatic field applied to the surface of a high-To superconducting YBa2Cu3OT_a thin film has been found to increase the transport critical current density (Jc) in the vicinity of T~. Ion implantation of oxygen increases Jc but, after implantation, a decrease of the critical current under the influence of an electric field has been observed. The effect of the electric field on Jc is explained by the modulation of superconducting properties of the polycrystalline film surface.
