In the human proteolipid protein gene, the base sequence of the intronic region 5' to exon 6 was found to be 5'-ctctttcattttcctgcag-3' and not 5'-ctcttttcattttcctgcag-3' as previously reported. P M D using the method of, and same primers as, Gencic et al. (1989). These primers are complementary to sequences more deeply embedded in the introns than the sequence published by Diehl et al. (1986) and therefore allow an independent check of the original data.
