## Abstract Copolymer composition studies are reported, for different mole fractions of acrylonitrile (AN), butyl acrylate (BA), vinylidene dichloride (CV), and styrene (S) in the initial monomer mixture. A partial azeotropy of acrylonitrile was found.
## SYNOPSIS T h e copolymerization of styrene with eight polymerizable fluorescent dyes, naphthalimide derivatives, was investigated. Their effect on the polymerization rate was established. It was found that the chemical structure of t h e dye influences the copolymerization process.
The polymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of two unsaturated optical brightening agents (OBs), 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives, has been investigated. It was found that the monomeric optical brighteners took part in the polymerization and were covalently bound in the polymer chai
