SYNOPSIS

T h e copolymerization of styrene with eight polymerizable fluorescent dyes, naphthalimide derivatives, was investigated. Their effect on the polymerization rate was established. It was found that the chemical structure of t h e dye influences the copolymerization process.

The copolymerization of styrene and methyl methacrylate with two monomeric fluorescent dyes, benzanthrone derivatives, have been investigated. The most suitable parameters of the process were determined. The copolymers obtained had an intensive stable to solvent color and fluorescence, due to the ch

The polymerization of styrene and acrylonitrile in the presence of two unsaturated optical brightening agents (OBs), 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives, has been investigated. It was found that the monomeric optical brighteners took part in the polymerization and were covalently bound in the polymer chai
