Thick films of YBa2Cu307.O (YBCO) have been fabricated on Y203 substrates by reaction between a mixture of BaCuO 2 and Cut. It is necessary to fire films above the binary eutectic temperature in order for adequate reaction to take place. Films fired at 950°C and 1000°C are polycrystalline in nature

Thin films of YBa2Cu307\_S were prepared in-situ on SrTi0 3 , Zr02, LaGa03, Ah03 and (for the first time) NdAlCa04 substrates by dc-sputtering and laser ablation using stoichiometric ceramic targets. In case of SrTi0 3 single crystalline films with narrow transitions to superconductivity (boTe ~0.5K
