✦ Synopsis
Two new neutral bicapped bisupporting Keggin-polyoxometalate derivatives: [M(2,2 0 -bpy
have been synthesized under hydrothermal conditions by directly using H 4 SiMo 12 O 40 as starting materials. Crystal data for compound 1: C 40 H 36 Co 2 Mo 12 N 8 O 44 SiV 2 , triclinic, space group P 1, a ¼ 11:884ð2Þ ( A, b ¼ 12:459ð3Þ ( A, c ¼ 12:652ð3Þ ( A, a ¼ 71:02ð3Þ1, b ¼ 74:51ð3Þ1, g ¼ 86:74ð3Þ1, V ¼ 1706.3(6) A ˚3, Z ¼ 1; for compound 2, C 40 H 36 Mo 12 N 8 O 44 SiV 2 Zn 2 , triclinic, space group P 1, a ¼ 11:879ð2Þ ( A, b ¼ 12:469ð3Þ ( A, c ¼ 12:635ð3Þ (
The studies of the electrochemical property of compounds 1 and 2 exhibit similar redox behavior to the parent [(C 4 H 9 ) 4 N] 4 SiMo 12 O 40 , undergoing three two-electron reversible reductions. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurement of compound 1 demonstrates the presence of antiferromagnetic interactions.
