โฆ Synopsis
The aim of this Letter is to design a robust control law to regulate the heating of living tissue. A nonlinear, time-delay differential equation is used to represent the dynamics at a point inside a living tissue, where time-delay is induced by perfusion effects on the cooling coefficients. Given a desired temperature elevation, a robust control with modeling error compensation is designed which is shown to be equivalent to a PI control law. The effectiveness of the control law to suppress temperature oscillations is illustrated via numerical simulations.
