Basic filters are described for preparation of magnetization in imaging. The filters are based on relaxation times, chemical shift selectivity, field distortions from susceptibility differences, and on relaxation during multipulse excitation for manipulation of the dipole ᎐ dipole interaction in sol

✦ Synopsis
Advanced filters are described for preparing magnetization in imaging. They are based on combinations of different filters for introducing combined parameter weights ᎏ including spin diffusion weights ᎏ and on multiple-quantum coherences. Exploitation of spectroscopic dimensions for generating contrast in imaging is addressed as are possibilities for generating contrast by temperature variation, electric fields, and contrast agents. The ( principles of contrast in imaging were treated in Part I of this series Concepts Magn Reson
