Tropical forests shrouded in mist and cloud are a habitat for very diverse communities of species. But these mountain rain forests are endangered. Globally they now account for less than one percent of the world's total forested area. In Costa Rica scientists have studied this fascinating flora and gained new insights into this threatened ecosystem.
