Consumers and environmentalists are very excited about the promise of photovoltaics but they are worried about many factors: that the cost is being held artificially above its market level, that the Federal Government is withdrawing from involvement in this marvellous technology and that oil companies are stifling competition. The consumer wants honest standards and measurements and wants the testing procedures to be as simple and inexpensive as possible.
