The volatile oils of the ¯owers and leaves of two collections (1997 and 1998) of the Ethiopian plant Salvia schimperi (Lamiaceae), have been examined separately by means of GC, chiral GC, GC±MS, GC±FTIR, 1 H-and 13 C-NMR. The main constituents of the essential oils of the ¯owers (1997) were identi®e

The hydrodistilled essential oil from the leaves of Cymbopogon citratus Stapf grown in Zambia was analysed by GC and GC±MS. Sixteen compounds representing 93.4% of the oil were identi®ed of which geranial (39.0%), neral (29.4%) and myrcene (18.0%) were the major components. Small amounts of geraniol
The constituents of the essential oil of Matricaria decipiens C. Koch (Asteraceae) were investigated by GLC and GC±MS. Twenty-seven components, representing 96% of the oil, were characterized. The major components were isomers of matricaria ester with 1,8-cineole. The dierent isomers of matricaria e
