โฆ Synopsis
More than 100 constituents of the commercial topped Brazilian Vassoura oil (ex Baccharis dracunculifolia DC.) were identified by GC-MS and 'H-NMR spectra. The oil is composed of c. 19% of monoterpene hydrocarbons. c. 2% of oxygenated monoterpenes, c. 38% of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, and c. 35% of oxygenated sesquiterpenes (15% nerolidol). The trace constituents (E)and (Z)-4,8-dimethylnona-3,7-dien-2-one, the vitispiranes, the theaspiranes, $-damascone, $-damascenone, the cabreuva oxides, p-ionone, and some 3-phenyl propanoates are olfactorily valuable. The constituents of the commercial Brazilian lantana oil are mainly bisabolene derivatives, altogether about 65%. The following new natural compounds were characterized by their 1 H-NMR and partly 13 C-NMR data: 1,12-epoxycadina-3,11-dienes (37, 40), helifolen-15-als (38/39), acora-2,4(15)-dien-11-o
Commercial Labdanum oil contains more than 300 constituents. 186 compounds (154 from the neutral part, 32 from the acidic part), representing about 95% of the oil, were identiยฎed mainly by their NMR spectra. Typical for the Labdanum oil in the C 15 to C 20 region are aromadendrane (23%), cadinane (9
Artemisia roxburghiana Besser (Asteraceae) is a common perennial herb growing wild on dry open slopes and wasteland in the Himalayan region at altitudes between 1 000 and 4 300 m. Its essential oil was studied by GC, GCยฑMS, 1 H-NMR and 13 C-NMR. One hundred and eight components were identiยฎed: 1,8-c
