Through the analysis of the infrared spectra of methyl propionate recorded at several temperatures, two conformers were distinguished which were due to rotation about the C-C bond between the o carbon and carbonyl group. An equilibrium state is discussed, with an energy difference of 1.1 i 0.3 kcal
