What was striking about the papers presented was the degree of unity of the central concems addressed, and the influence that a Kantian perspective exercised on many of them. The conference suggested that a great deal of the debate about practical reason in the near future is likely to center on the adequacy of the Kantian view and that questions about the nature of agency and the structural parallels between practical and theoretical reason are likely to assume increasing importance in that debate.
