β¦ Synopsis
Three different mechanisms are suggested for the non-linear saturation of the ion-acoustic instability. These include the indirect wave-particle interaction, the scattering on density fluctuations and the effects of energy renormalization of the particles. A comparison with the earlier theoretical investigations and the recent observations of Skylab has been made.

The results of the theory of ion acoustic turbulence for a plasma with several ion species are given. It is found that charged dust particles and heavy ions diminish the electron scattering by turbulent fluctuations in multi-species plasmas. Due to this diminishing the anomalous transport amplificat
