β¦ Synopsis
administered a mailed questionnaire to three groups of bereavement researchers and clinicians: persons attending an international bereavement conference in London in 1988, persons who have publications in the field, and to "care workers" in Australia. The purpose of the survey was to obtain common perceptions of short and long-term bereavement phenomena. We question the value of the information obtained based on the three following concerns: the global nature of the literature presented as a background for the survey, limited information presented about the respondents, and the development of the survey measure used. Each of these concerns is addressed briefly.
