β¦ Synopsis
This paper presents some numerical techniques used to investigate the nonlinear dynamics of a class of mechanical systems affected by dry friction forces. They allow for the exact detection of the points which separate slip phases from stick phases, m this way the correct dynamic equations are integrated during the different motion phases. Finally, a method is described to perform the numerical computation of the Lyapunov exponents in such non-smooth systems.

Many inelastic solids accumulate numerous cracks before failure due to impact loading, thus rendering any exact solution of the IBVP untenable. It is therefore useful to construct computational models that can accurately predict the evolution of damage during actual impact/dynamic events in order to
Neuro-fuzzy (NF) models are well-known robust learning systems that combine the advantages of fuzzy sets and neurocomputation theory. This article presents the application of the NF approach to the computation of 3 rd -order intermodulation power levels in microwave-intensity-modulated GaAlAs laser
