The HSO; radical has been generated and characterized by neutralization/reionization mass spectmmetry. The HSO; radical exhibits a minimum lifetime of 0.7 ps when isolated in the gas phase. The principal unimolecular decomposition paths of HSO, were found to be loss of 'OH and 0, respectively.
