The effects of the initial frequency chirp on soliton-effect pulse compression are numerically analyzed. It is shown that the effects of the initial frequency chirp on the pulse quality factor cannot be neglected. The optical fiber loss plays an important role in the quality of the compressed optica
## Abstract Optical pulse regeneration and reshaping using nonlinear optical pulse amplification followed by a chirpβcontrolled filtering is simulated. The nonlinear amplification and chirp control are obtained by feedforward current injection in a semiconductor optical amplifier. The nonlinear amp
