β¦ Synopsis
The effects of the initial frequency chirp on soliton-effect pulse compression are numerically analyzed. It is shown that the effects of the initial frequency chirp on the pulse quality factor cannot be neglected. The optical fiber loss plays an important role in the quality of the compressed optical pulse, especially when the initial soliton order is small, so the fiber loss cannot be causally neglected.
