✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The aim of this study was to compare the effects of 5 to 30 parts by weight of unmodified and modified collagen on the properties of XNBR rubber vulcanized with a cross‐linking system. This study is a part of experimental series concerning polymeric materials that are biodegradable due to their filling with a waste protein such as collagen. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The effect of a variety of electrolytes on the stabilization and destabilization of the rod‐like superstructures in reconstituted collagen membranes have been studied by small‐angle light scattering (SALE). Structural orders at two levels are effected: association–disassociation at the
The mechanical properties of the water-swellable rubber prepared by blending polychloroprene with precipitated silica, crosslinked sodium polyacrylate, polyethylene oxide, and vulcanizing agents-such as stress at break, strain at break, modulus, energy at break, and hardness-were studied before and
## Abstract The theories that predict the increase in the modulus of elastomers resulting from the presence of a rigid filler are typically derived from Einstein's viscosity law. For example, Guth and Gold used this approach to predict how the Young's modulus of an elastomer is related to the fille
Rubber-grade carbon black filler HAF(N330) was modified with a plant product (PP; long aliphatic chain substituted phenols), a proprietary item under patent application, in the presence or absence of hexamine (Hexa) or dicumyl peroxide (DCP) to put a flexible moiety in between the carbon black and t
