Abstract

In the paper the BEM and FEM results have been compared in the context of 2D electromagnetic field analysis in a zoned medium with eddy current subregions. The practical problem concerning the turbogenerator end region has been discussed. The magnetic flux density over the surface of the end package and the current density in the non‐magnetic pressure plate have been analysed.

## Abstract The exposure of humans to electromagnetic near fields has not been sufficiently emphasized by researchers. We have used the plane‐wave‐spectrum approach to evaluate the electromagnetic field and determine the energy deposited in a lossy, homogeneous, semi‐infinite slab placed in the nea

The hypothesis that exposure to a certain combination of static and alternating electromagnetic fields (EMFs) results in an increase in motility of the marine diatom Amphora coffeaeformis was tested. Diatom motility in three strains of A. coffeaeformis was positively correlated with extracellular ca
