Abstract

Simultaneous measurement of the flow of blood in the calf in 24 normal volunteers by impedance and mercury strain gauge plethysmography has revealed a systematic difference in the results from the two methods. Possible reasons for this discrepancy are discussed.

## Abstract Using duplex ultrasonography lower-limb blood flow measurements were obtained in 20 patients with intermittent claudication. Assessments of flow were made in the common femoral artery, profunda femoris artery (PFA) and superficial femoral artery (SFA) before and after angioplasty for st
