β¦ Synopsis
A single phase of Bi-rich Bi2.o6Sr2.o3Cao.98Cul.98Oy was prepared, and the oxygen nonstoichiometry Ay, critical temperature Tc and low-and high-temperature conductivities or were determined. The results were compared to those of the Cu-rich 2212 phase. Bi-rich oxide has shown a narrower Ay than Cu-rich oxide. The high-temperature conductivity of Bi-rich oxide was found to increase with the excess oxygen content Ay, as in the case of Cu-rich oxide. It was also shown that oxygen overdoping resulted from quenching samples highly doped with oxygen. Assuming that one excess oxygen atom creates two holes, the carrier density was calculated to be 1.

We have succeeded in studying the structural characteristics of a single thread of Bi-based 22 12-phase whisker by X-ray diffraction. It is found that the structural characteristics of a single thread of whisker coincide with those of a 2212-phase single crystal. The single thread of whisker is a 22
A systematic study of the weak link behavior for (Bi,Pb) 2 Sr 2 Ca 2 Cu 3 O y (Bi-2223) polycrystalline samples has been done using the electrical resistivity and AC susceptibility techniques. In this project, we have prepared a series of Bi-2223 samples with different fractions of Bi-2212 phase and
