✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel printed monopole antenna with an ultra‐wide bandwidth is presented. The proposed antenna has very compact size (12 × 22 mm^2^) as well as very simple configuration and easily fed by using a 50 Ω microstrip line. The antenna impedance bandwidth based on S~11~ < −10 dB is from 3 to 14 GHz, about 130%. A stably omnidirectional radiation patterns over a wide bandwidth is obtained. These features will make the antenna attractive for modern ultra‐wideband applications. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel ultra-wideband compact slot antenna fed by a grounded coplanar waveguide (CPW) is presented. This antenna is similar to the conventional CPW-fed slot antenna, and a forklike tuning stub and a polygonlike slot are designed in order to increase the operation bandwidth of the antenna. It is inv
