Abstract
This paper presents a new CPW‐fed monopole antenna, which is composed of two stacked circles with different radii. This novel structure reduces the dimension and improves the impedance bandwidth dramatically. The measured bandwidth defined by VSWR <2.5 is from 3.15 GHz to 27.5 GHz, i.e., a ratio of about 8.7:1. This proposed monopole exhibits a nearly omni‐directional radiation pattern with very compact size and simple structure, which is suitable for various military and commercial wideband applications. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The design of a simple coplanar waveguide (CPW)‐fed inverted C‐shaped monopole antenna with symmetrical ground plane is initially proposed. Its dual band operation is able to cover the entire wireless local area network frequency spectrum at 2.4, 5.2, and 5.8 GHz. By simply tuning one o
## Abstract A modified planar monopole antenna with multiband operation for wireless local area networks (WLAN) is presented in this article. The antenna is composed of symmetrical hook‐shaped strips and a horizontal strip on the top, both printed on an inexpensive FR4 substrate, and is fed by a co
