The essential defects of the mathematical model and analytical deductions of reference [1] are shown in this note. Some problems concerning the stochastic dynamics of a rattling system are discussed in reference [1]. It is interesting to study the non-linear random vibrations. However, some essenti

β¦ Synopsis
WAROERSKY and WAROERSKY'S (1980, 1981, 1983) Manna models on algal patchiness and competition are essentially stochastic models. Analysis of their phase-spatial properties, however, reveals complementary, deterministic features: interspecific competition is relatively ineffective because of the high degree of compartmentalization of resource supply and consumption; the probability of consumption in a given place a t a given time is largely independent of the rate of consumption in other places.
Abbreviations
R resource supply, number units per time interval At.
i suffix for a given consumer species.
si survival time permitted per absorbed resource unit. dRi resource increment necessary to survive one time interval At. f rate of reproduction; binary fissions per resource consumed. ri growth rate of consumer species. C total number of space cells in the grid. K maximum number of cells occupied by consumers (carrying capacity). P probability of resource presence per empty space cell and At. P, probability of resource absorption in space cell c within a time interval At. P& rate of resource absorption in space cell c'=I=c. PA probability of consuniption per consumer and At in the aggregating population. PD probability of consumption per consumer and At in the dispersed population.

A validation based on solvation energies (vacuum to water transfer) is not sufficient to justify the use of approximated models of electrostatics to rank ligand/protein complexes. A full validation should be based on energies in solution, i.e., solvation plus vacuum Coulomb energies, because of the
