✦ Synopsis
In the above paper [Najson, F. and E. Kreindler (1994). On compensation for neglected actuator dynamics. Automatica, 30, 1501-15021 a control law for compensating neglected actuator dynamics was proposed.
In this correspondence it is pointed out that the stability of the overall system cannot be left unaddressed and that the proposed control is inadequate to demonstrate improvement in performance and to guarantee the stability of the overall system. The required modification to the control law is outlined. The literature published previously for compensating actuator dynamics using essentially the same idea as in Najson and Kreindler (1994) is cited. definite matrix. Introducing a change of coordinates e =Y=-Y, the system (1) (2) can be represented as:

The effect of unmodeled fast actuator dynamics on the output feedback stabilization of feedback-linearizable systems is studied. It is shown that if the actuator dynamics are suBiciently fast, the output feedback controller will stabilize the origin of the actual system. Moreover, it is shown that t
