Abstract
In a recent article by Tezel (Microwave and Optical Technology Letters 50 (2008), 2768–2772), it is claimed that a new formulation and a solution method for the electromagnetic scattering problems related to cylindrical dielectric objects of arbitrary shape is presented. The author makes basic mathematical mistakes in the formulation and as a result we have serious doubts about the correctness of the presented numerical results. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this study, a new and computational effective method related to electromagnetic scattering from arbitrary shaped dielectric objects is proposed. This method is based on Taylor series expansion of fields with unknown coefficients on the circles that are inside and outside of object. B
