✦ Synopsis
Polymerization reactions in dimethyldiethoxylsilane were studied using a new high-resolution 29Si NMR method. This method is a combination of two polarization transfer experiments (DEPT) with a 29Si-29Si two-dimensional INEPT DQF COSY NMR experiment. The structures of oligomers were identified, including linear oligomers up to hexamers and cyclic oligomers with three, four or five silicon atoms. The distribution of species was determined from the intensities of resonance lines, giving some information on the polymerization pathways.
