โฆ Synopsis
The basic equation of motion of structural members with a thin-walled cross-section under periodic follower torque and force becomes a Mathieu's equation and simple parametric and combination resonances occur in this system. The regions of those resonances of the members with various boundary conditions are estimated by using the stability criterion with the characteristic exponent and their instability becomes evident from the numerical results.
