β¦ Synopsis
Several aminoalkylphosphonates? (AAP's) have recently been found to occur naturally and the occurrence of others may be anticipated.
(See reference 1 for a review of what is known of these compounds.) An automated analytical procedure is thus desirable to permit detection, identification, and determination of these compounds in biological fluids, and in protein and lipid hydrolyxates.
Such a procedure would also be valuable for studies which may use the AAP's as amino acid analogs, e.g., in studies of amino acid transport.
This report describes a modification of the techniques of Spackman, Stein, and Moore (2) that permits separation and quantitation of these acidic compounds, most of which are not resolved by the usual procedures.
