The collision-induced decomposition mass spectrum of protonated rn-nitrobenzyl alcohol (NBA) was studied. The various cluster ions fragment mainly by loss of neutral NBA. Nitro-to-nitrite isomerization followed by loss of 'NO is a favoured fragmentation pathway of the [MH]+ ion. Eliminations of \*OH
