## Abstract ## Background Diabetic neuropathy is the most common cause of peripheral neuropathy and a serious complication of diabetes. Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) stimulates angiogenesis and has neurotrophic and neuroprotective activities. To examine the efficiency of VEGF 164 elect
