UPS and XPS are used to show that the reactions of 3-20 eV CO+ beams with a Ni(ll1) surface in a UHV system PO\_ duce surface carbonyl at 3 eV, atomic oxygen and carbon surface species at 20 eV, and a mixture of these products at intermediate energies. The yields of these products as a function of k

The standard INDC method has been used to calculate the e!cctron spin density distribution and isotropic Fermi contact hypcrfine coupling in the radicals CO+, COT, and OF. Bond lengths and angle (for CO?:) have been varied over a rcasonable ranpe. Geomctricnl effects arc found to have a rclativcly s
We show examples of energy spectra obtained for ionic fragments thst are emitted in the forward direction when 3.5 MeV beams of CO: and N,O+dissociate in thin (= 150 A) carbon foils. The spectra demonstrate in a novel way the structures of the two species of incident moleculax ions.
Absolute absorption rates of mixtures of water vapor and carbon dioxide have been measured at 239 GHz which is in an atmospheric window for the rotational and vibrational spectra of both species. The dependence on pressure as well as temperature has been obtained. The experimental data are compared
