Abstract
Twins have been previously classified as either monozygotic or dizygotic. In recent years, fascinating, nonβtraditional mechanisms of twinning have been uncovered. We define chimerism versus mosaicism, touch on chimerism in the animal world, and explain timing of chimerism in humans. In addition, we discuss when to suspect chimerism in patients, and how to proceed with diagnostic evaluation and confirmation. Β© 2009 WileyβLiss, Inc.

Purpose. This study aimed to determine the clinical significance of echogenic amniotic fluid. Methods. We prospectively studied 19 twin pregnancies in which the amniotic fluid in 1 sac was anechoic and that in the other sac was echogenic. Morphologic characteristics of amniotic fluid were assessed
We generalize the problem of detecting qualitative interaction between treatments and subsets in a two treatment clinical trial to the more practical problem of detecting a qualitative interaction greater than a non-negative value d, corresponding to the minimal treatment difference of clinical sign
