โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
LDHโB~4~ specific activity was determined from Fundulus heteroclitus collected in the field and from laboratoryโacclimated fish from four latitudinally distinct populations. The differences in the enzyme activity between populations for both fieldโcaught and laboratoryโacclimated fish are significant, with the northern populations having the highest LDHโB~4~ enzyme activity. This clinal variation in enzyme activity is consistent with an evolutionary mechanism that compensates for lower environmental temperatures in colder northern latitudes.

## Abstract An unusual pattern of LDH isozymes was observed by gel electrophoresis of an extract of a human testis. This isozyme composition is consistent with an allelic variant of Ldhโc.
We have adapted a LacZ promoter trap screen developed by Burns et al. (1994) to search for genes whose expression is dependent on Rtg2p, a protein with an N-terminal hsp70/actin/sugar kinase ATP binding domain. Rtg2p acts upstream of the basic helix-loop-helix/leucine zipper transcription factors, R
